True Light Digital is a new name run by an established studio: Proud Brands, founded in 2014. Same people, same methods, built for churches.

The first visit happens on a phone

Someone has just moved to your area. It's Saturday night. They type "church near me" into their phone and your site comes up. They want four things, and they want them in under a minute: what time is the service, where is it, where do I park, and will anyone talk to me when I walk in. If they have children they want to know what happens with the children. If they've been away from church for twenty years they want to know what to wear and whether they'll be asked to stand up.

Most church websites answer none of that on the first screen. They open with a welcome message written for people who already come, a photo of the building from the parking lot, and a menu with fourteen items. The service times are on a page called "Worship" that nobody new would think to click. The newcomer closes the tab. Nothing about your church was wrong. The website just didn't do its job.

What a church website has to do

We build every church site around a short list of jobs, and we check each one before launch.

  • Service times in five seconds. Times, days, and what kind of service, on the home page, above everything else. If your times change across the year, the site says so and stays right.
  • A page for people who are new. What to expect, what happens with children, how long it lasts, what to wear, where to sit. Written plainly, without assuming anyone knows the words.
  • Directions and parking. A map that opens in the visitor's own map app. Parking that's honest about the street if that's where people park.
  • Children, youth and groups. Who they're for, when they meet, who to ask. A safe environment line where it belongs.
  • Talks and sermons. Simple to find, simple to play, simple for your office to add each week without calling anyone.
  • Giving. A giving page that works with the provider you already use, without sending people three sites away.
  • A real person to contact. A name where you want one, a form that goes to someone who checks it, and a phone number that rings.
  • Findable on Google and in AI answers. Structured so search engines and the AI assistants people now ask can read your times, your address and what kind of church you are. This is where church website design and church SEO meet, and we build for both from the first day. SEO for churches

What's in a build

Every church is different, and the order of a Sunday morning tells us a lot. Here is what a build with us includes.

Listening first.

We talk to the pastor, and we also talk to the person who actually updates the site, the greeter at the door, and someone who joined in the last year. The newcomer's memory of finding you is worth more than any brief.

Structure before design.

We agree what pages exist and what each one is for. Fewer pages than you expect. Every page earns its place.

Design that fits your church.

Your building, your people, your colors, photographed properly where we can. No stock photos of a congregation you don't have.

Writing, done with you.

We write the pages with you, in plain words. You know your church. We know what a stranger reads first.

A build your office can run.

Pages your volunteers can edit without breaking anything. Service times, events and talks in simple forms. Training that takes an hour, and notes you can hand to the next volunteer.

The search foundation.

Fast pages, clean structure, the right information in the right place, and the details that let Google and AI assistants show your church correctly. It's built in, not bolted on.

Launch and the month after.

We put it live, check it in the real world, watch it for thirty days, and fix what we find.

Real websites, not a builder account

Most church websites sold by the month live inside the seller's own builder. The design is a theme with your logo dropped in, and if you ever leave, the site stays behind. We don't work that way. Every True Light Digital site is designed from your church, not from a theme, and built on open software that any developer can work on and any host can run. It's a real website, and it's yours.

You own it

The site belongs to your church.

It doesn't live inside someone else's builder, so leaving us never means starting again. If you want to move on in five years, you take everything with you. We'd rather you stayed because the site works than because you're stuck.

  • The domain is yours
  • The content is yours
  • The login is yours

Who runs it after we leave

The honest answer for most churches is a volunteer with a day job. So we build for that person. Nothing on the site needs a developer to change. The weekly jobs, a new talk, a changed time, a Christmas service, take minutes. We stay available for the things that don't, on a care plan sized for a church, not a company.

New site, or fix the one you have

Not every church needs a new website. If your site is basically sound and the problem is that nobody can find the service times, we'll say so, and we'll tell you the five things to fix. The free check does exactly that. It comes back as a plain note, whether or not you go any further with us.

What it costs

A church website, built for you.

Listening, structure, design, writing with you, the build, training, launch, and thirty days of watching it. Yours from day one.

Website plus care.

After launch, for hosting, updates, security and a person to ask.

Costs are stated before work starts.

Churches across traditions

We work with non-denominational and community churches, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Episcopal and Anglican churches, Catholic parishes, multi-campus churches, and plants still meeting in a school gym. The words change.

We know the difference and we don't make you explain it.

A plant
needs one page that says "we exist, here's when, come".
A multi-campus church
needs a page per campus that a visitor can tell apart.
A parish
needs Mass times, confession times and the feast days.

Straight answers

How long does a church website take?

Most church sites take six to ten weeks from first conversation to launch. The slow part is usually gathering photos and agreeing the words, so we start those in week one. A single-page site for a plant can be live in three weeks. We'll give you a date, not a range, once we've listened.

Can our volunteers update it themselves?

Yes. That's the point of the build. Service times, events, talks and news are simple forms, not code. We train whoever holds the login, record the session, and leave written notes. If that person moves on, the next one picks it up from the notes.

Will we own the website?

Yes. The domain, the content and the design are the church's, and the login is in your name. If you leave us you take the whole site with you. Nothing is held back and there's no fee to leave.

Can it work with our giving, sermon and calendar tools?

Usually, yes. We build around the providers you already use for giving, planning, live streams and talks rather than asking you to change them. We'll tell you at the start if something you use won't connect cleanly, and what the options are.

We're a small church with a small budget. Is this for us?

Yes. Small churches are most of the churches. The build scales to the church, and a small church needs fewer pages, not a cheaper version of the same ones. Start with the free check. It costs nothing and tells you what actually needs doing.

Will a new site lose the Google rankings we already have?

Not if the move is planned. We map every old page to its new home, redirect what changes, and keep the details search engines already trust. A well planned move usually improves how a church appears in search rather than harming it. SEO for churches

Do you work with churches outside the UK?

Yes. We work with churches across the United States and the United Kingdom, and elsewhere in English. Calls are set around your time zone, and everything else happens by email and shared documents.

Want to know what your site is telling newcomers?

Send us your address and we'll look at your church website the way a stranger on a phone would. You'll get a plain note back with what's working and what to fix, whether or not we ever work together.

The person who'd do the work takes the call.
